Christmas tree stands
Christmas trees need some method of keeping them upright. The old way was to put the tree in a bucket and pack stones around the trunk. Unfortunately, that method did not always work and many a tree toppled over at sometime during the festive period. Nowadays there are many types of Christmas tree stands and bases. Some still use buckets or tree tubs as they are now called. Other types clamp onto the tree trunk to keep the tree firmly upright. Often a lovely base cover is used to hide this clamp or tub and keep the whole thing tidy.
